Two years extensive travel throughout the United States and various countries in the early nineties allowed me to gather valuable information and experience regarding the diverse applications for exothermic cutting. My product demonstrations ranged from industrial steel plants to Navy Seal training in San Diego, California. The most unusual experience was undoubtedly traveling in a remote jungle in Puerto Rico with the torch and oxygen strapped on the back of a burro to demonstrate field repairs on a sugar mill.
MagnumUSA products have been featured in Wired Magazine and in many motion pictures films where specialized cutting and special effects were required. The torch performed beyond expectations during three separate evaluations by MSHA and NIOSH for mining repair on heavy equipment. Our cutting rods were also successfully tested in radioactive settings. One of the most unusual demonstrations involved cutting space shuttle tiles for NASA.
In 2020 Magnum moved to Georgia to better respond to the localized needs of undewater customers in the gulf and in Florida, a major shipping point for South America. My background as a former welding engineer allowed me to develop high performance wet welding electrodes with a unique design to minimize post weld cracking frequently experienced by other brands. Both our electrodes and torches have been used to train underwater divers in dive school settings. Our top valve torches also provides additional safety in underwater environments.
